Speaker’s Topic:  How to Prevent Identity Theft
Identity theft is one of the fastest-growing crimes in the United States. Criminals are using readily available personal information to steal billions of dollars and make life miserable for hundreds of thousands of Americans. It's a crime that can be easy to commit and very difficult to solve. It happens to an estimated 400,000 Americans a year; it could happen to you.  Join Deputy Karen Klug, as she talks about identity theft, how thieves get your information, and how to protect yourself.

Speaker’s Biography:
Karen graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Social Work.  She has worked in various positions in the criminal justice system with increasing responsibilities throughout her career, including road patrol, Sergeant, Child Support Enforcement Supervisor, Loss Prevention Manager, 9-1-1 Communications Specialists, and Captain of a 40 member reserve unit.  In July of 2001, she was certified as a Crime Prevention Specialist by the American Crime Prevention Institute in Kentucky.
