The Women’s Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance was key in seeing this husband and wife team’s shared dream to fruition. Jayme will tell us how she and Abel got started, some of the challenges, and the potential they see for the future in downtown Benton Harbor.

Speaker Biography
Jayme Cousins and her husband, Abel Abarca Martinez, are delighted with the warm reception from tourists and locals alike during this, their first summer in downtown Benton Harbor after launching their restaurant, the Mason Jar Café, late spring of 2014. Their offering of fresh, healthy, local ingredients full of big flavor coupled with excellent customer service proves a winning combination. After several years learning in local and chain restaurants, Jayme and Abel welcome diners of all kinds to their fresh, hip establishment, with plenty of choices to meet a variety of needs and tastes.
