Speaker Topic
Imagine moving from California to St. Joseph in 1972 to go to work for Whirlpool as a marketing manager and being the first and only female management person in the building.

Fast forward to 1981 and imagine another single female manager moving from Denver to work at Whirlpool leading a team of men to solve a laundry problem.  Fortunately these two women met back in 1975 when Diana Seaman (Denver) was in the Marketing Management Training Program and was being trained by Marilyn Schanze (California).

The need for support for female managers and professionals was huge in the area and there weren’t any groups willing or trying to fill this need.  So Marilyn and Diana decided to do it themselves.

Come, learn and laugh as Diana recounts the journey she and Marilyn took to form EPWA.

Speaker Biography
Happily retired from Whirlpool since 2006, Diana fills her time through volunteering at Lakeland, Healing Paws Dog Therapy with her dog, Layla, and her church, First Congregational Church where she serves on the Missions Board and is a Called to Care volunteer.

During the 36 years Diana was at Whirlpool, she finished her degree, moved around the country, married her husband, Drew and raised three daughters, Daire, Danielle, and Devyn. As the Market Lead for a new Kitchen Aid Dishwasher she successfully led a team utilizing a new market launch process to develop and launch the new $30.0 million project which exceeded all timelines and financial goals.

In her last position, she directed the sales training staff and managed the trade shows and financial meetings introducing all the new innovative products worldwide.  While working at Whirlpool, Diana founded EPWA with Marilyn Schanze and served on various community boards.
