Speaker Topic

Be Our Guest offers the ultimate Southwest Michigan experience in vacation home rentals. Launched in 2011 to support visitors to the first SPGA tournament in SWMI, the partnership of three EPWA members plus two other partners has flourished and grown into a very successful “part-time business.” The goal for the company to this day is to help guests enjoy the Pure Michigan experience with the personal attention that will make for a worry and stress free vacation. BOG assists local homeowners to rent their homes by providing comprehensive services that reduce the number of details and hassles. Their tagline “Come Be Our Guest and we’ll take care of the rest” sums up the company’s business model. Whether guests are looking for a 3-night stay, couple get-a-way or a week-long family retreat, BOG has the right house to fit most guests’ needs. Be Our Guest services are designed to help individual groups, corporate clients, and event planners. Local housing accommodations range from condominiums and family-style houses to Lake Michigan estates. Nancy McDonnall, Joan Walters and Judy Cannan will be showcasing their collaboration that began as conversation over dinner at an EPWA meeting.

Speaker Biography

Nancy McDonnall - Owner of NMAC Marketing Consultants, she is grateful to Whirlpool Corporation for bringing her to this great area from the corn fields of Indiana to work as an engineer/home economist. Nancy left Whirlpool to pursue a selling career as a real estate agent which lead her to starting her own real estate agency. After climbing the ropes at a local advertising company, Nancy opened her marketing consultant business. She manages her own real estate rentals and understands the needs of renters and rental owners.

Joan Walters – Owner of JR Walters Resources, Joan's experience in human resource management and tradeshow management and promotion gives her first-hand experience in providing both individual and corporate solutions. Along with her partner, John Bolger, she owns a number of rental properties in the area that keeps both in touch with the local housing market.

Joan and Nancy also serve on a number of local boards and serve as ambassadors for Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce.

Judy Cannan – As a certified PMP (Project Management Professional), Judy is organized and an outstanding problem solver. Longtime Chicago residents, Judy and Bob Walck purchased a second home in southwest Michigan in 2001. After moving to Michigan full time, they utilized their knowledge of marketing and customer service to start Harbortown Concierge, a company which serves the second home owner in maintaining and renting their homes in Southwest Michigan.
