Speaker Topic

This month's topic is amazing!  Amanda Johnson, Carrie Troyer, and Megan Zernicke are excited to share their journey of launching Three Blondes Brewery.

Speakers Biography

The Three Blondes are sisters Megan Zernicke, Carrie Troyer, and Amanda Johnson, who were born and raised in South Haven and are the proud owners (along with their husbands) of Three Blondes Brewing.  They get their entrepreneurship and work ethic from their parents, who have owned and operated a small powersports dealership (VanDerZee Motorplex) in South Haven for 30 years.  As you will see from their bios, they didn't come from a background in brewing or hospitality, so they hired a brewmaster, general manager, and chef to run the brewery and restaurant.  But as with most small businesses, they wear many hats to fill the other roles-

Megan (Blonde #1) graduated from CMU and is now a stay at home mom to 3 children and an online fitness coach.  She's the Instagram master for 3BB and helps with event planning.  Her husband is Matt, who graduated from the University of Wisconsin and his day job is an engineer at Gentex.  His forte is project management, which helps keep everything in order at Three Blondes Brewing.

Carrie (Blonde #2) graduated from Kalamazoo College and is a CPA who worked in public and corporate accounting for 12 years before quitting to work at the brewery full time.  She's the accounting master and also loves to bartend.  Her husband is Adam, who completed his undergrad at Kalamazoo College and his Masters at WMU.  His day job is a strategy analyst at Steelcase and he moonlights at 3BB as a bartender, dishwasher, Excise Tax master, and HR guru.

Amanda (Blonde #3) graduated from WMU with her teaching degree and is now a stay at home mom to 3 young children.  Her talents include bartending, responding to customer reviews, and doing social media posts (while nursing if necessary!).  She's married to Joe, who also graduated from WMU.  He's a sales manager at VanDerZee Motorplex and is the master negotiator for the brewery, which saved tons on construction!
