The wine industry has a huge impact on the growth of our local economy and tourism in Berrien County. Lazy Ballerina Winery is the only women-owned winery on the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail and is owned and operated by Lauren Kniebes, a young professional and Cornerstone Chamber YP Executive Board Member, and her cousin Melanie Owen.

They opened for business in June of 2015 in downtown St. Joseph and opened their second tasting room in downtown Bridgman in the summer of 2017. The have a variety of wines inspired by homemade family wine recipes and pride themselves on creating a tasting experience that is full of fun and free of intimidation.

Come taste and see what they are all about at the Young Professionals Monthly Mixer on January 10th at their St. Joseph winery and tasting room at 315 State Street. Wine will be available by the glass and you may try any two wines for free!

As of right now, the snowiest area seems to be downtown St. Joe. And just a few moments ago, the sun was shining. Safety is our priority for our members and guests. With the nature of lake effect snow, of course, it’s difficult to predict how much actual snow we’ll be dealing with later and where.

We have the benefit of being at Papa Vino’s tonight, where they can accommodate pretty much whatever we throw at them. So, unless it gets much worse, we’ll still be there. And if you feel that it’s safest for you to stay home, please let me or Jo Ann know and we will apply your paid December fee to your next meeting registration.

BONUS:  A glass of wine and dessert is included tonight! So, come on into the back room, and the servers will take care of us. We’ll enjoy a family-style variety of delicious Italian entrees with a glass of wine and dessert included. If you have any special dietary needs, please let our server(s) know and they will accommodate.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. (kjgane@ganepossible.com, 269.487.6024.)

I look forward to seeing everyone who can make it tonight!
